It is with sadness that we announce the postponement of ScoutFest 21, which had been scheduled for October 1‐3, 2021. No date for ScoutFest in the future is being set at this time. An announcement will be made when practical.
ScoutFest 2020, and then ScoutFest 21, were planned to be weekend events with upwards of 20,000 people in Forest Park. Highlights were to include seven program festivals on Saturday with hundreds of different events, exhibitors, and vendors. A Saturday evening show was planned for Art Hill featuring a variety of professional entertainers. The continued uncertainty of a return to normal post COVID‐19 made the likelihood of securing professional entertainment, outside vendors, logistical support, participation, and enough volunteer staffing unrealistic.
As we all look forward to a time in 2021 when we can hopefully begin a return to normal, the Greater St. Louis Area Council will focus our efforts on recruiting new and returning Scouts as membership losses have been significant.
A smaller council‐wide event will be planned for the fall of 2021. Details will be released as they are available. Our hope is to conduct an event where all Scouts, leaders and parents can feel safe with participation.
